I am the founder of Luxora, and I feel compelled to say that Luxora is more than just a beauty and fragrance destination. It’s a deeply personal journey built on passion, experience, and an understanding that beauty is far more than skin-deep.
I began my career as a licensed beautician, working hands-on with skin, makeup, and the transformative power of self-care. But my curiosity didn’t stop at surface level. I chose to step away from the beauty chair to pursue university-level studies that led me down the intricate paths of psychology, biology, and yes - even neuroscience.
You might wonder, what does that have to do with beauty?
The answer is: everything.
Why does a swipe of our favourite lipstick feel like armour? Why does that one perfume make us feel powerful, nostalgic, or comforted? Why do some skincare products never seem to work, no matter the price tag?
These aren’t just surface questions. There’s a science behind them.

That little burst of confidence we get from a beloved beauty product isn’t vanity — it’s neurochemical. The way we see ourselves, and how beauty rituals fit into our self-perception, involves complex emotional, hormonal and neurotransmitters feedback loops.
